The Master Dentistry series provides a good overview of the subject areas and I found them particularly useful during exam times. The text is appropriately supplemented with great diagrams and the layout of the books makes all the subject areas easy to access and find.

At the end of each chapter there are self assessment questions which were really useful and would aid any student’s learning. Each chapter has a helpful overview and learning objectives are provided throughout each chapter.

The books give a great summary of all the subject areas they cover but need to be used in conjunction with a more detailed textbook. I used them quite often if I didn't understand a certain part of a lecture as the wording is easy to understand and is uncomplicated. They're a must for any dental student’s bookshelf!

same book as later paperback (with name change)

(This is meant as a cautionary note if you're seeking out useful books on the Usonian house design.)

This book (a hardcover published in 1976) is the same as the later paperback titled 'Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian Houses: Designs for Moderate Cost One-Family Homes' published in 1984.

Due to the fact that the two have slightly different titles (the hardcover edition from 1976 concludes its title with 'The Case for Organic Architecture' while the paperback version from 1984 concludes its title with 'Designs for Moderate Cost One-Family Homes') I originally thought that they might be two different ways of viewing the Usonian design (i.e. not the same book) but then I noticed that they had exactly the same number of pages and that made me suspicious.

I recently purchased the paperback (published in 1984) and yesterday (as I write this) came across the 1976 hardcover edition in a local used book store (quickly noting the indexed chapters). That is why I can now say that even thought the titles differ somewhat the two editions are the same book.

If you want one of the best book on the Unsonian house style get this book - sort of.

The best book on F.L.Wright's Unsonian houses, but for a five star book get $16.45 republished book : Frank Lloyd Wright's Usonian Houses: Designs for Moderate Cost One-Family Homes. It is soft cover, but the contents are the same.

I love this book, it's flow, design and layout is nice. But more so, I just really love these stories and insights, and feel like I really connect with them and with Laura Ingalls Wilder as a person.

Discovering another 'Little House' book

What a delight to find this and get a rounded picture of Laura as an adult. She was an amazing woman. I thoroughly enjoyed her comments on the farming scene in America; seen through the articles she wrote over the years for the newspapers and magazines of her day. A book to browse or read straight through a really worthwhile read.

If you loved Laura's books as a child, you'll thoroughly enjoy reading her insightful articles and essays for adults. Many of these were published as a column in the newspaper her daughter, Rose, worked for and they are as pertinent and appropriate today (maybe even more so considering the state of our country's affairs) as they were last century. A lovely, lovely book - you'll feel like you're getting to know Laura all over again.
